A Workshop Held by the Faculty of Languages Concerned with the Russian Orientalist Bartlod

On November 16, 2023, under the auspices of Professor Dr. Wiam Al-Bayati, Dean of the faculty of languages, the Department of Persian Language held a workshop about the Russian orientalist “Vasilie Vlademier Bartlod”, the workshop chaired by assistant. Dr. Mohamed Al-Kazaz, and involved a definition and extensive explanation about the meaning of orientalism, and the types of the schools of orientalisim. Furthermore, assistant. Dr. Mohamed Al-Kazaz explained the relationship between the Islamic religion and the Russian orientalism which was deeply affected by Islam and the holy Quraan.
Regarded as the founder of the Soviet Orientalist School, the workshop involved a discussion about Bartlod, his biography, childhood and also his ideas comparing to the opinions of the orientalists in other schools.
