A Workshop on Shahana

Under the supervision of the Dean of the Faculty of Languages, Prof. Dr. Wiaam Abdul-Wahab Al-Bayati, the Department of Persian Language held a workshop entitled “The Impact of the Shahnameh on Arabic Literature and its Impact on it” On Monday 4/5/2023. It was presented by Dr. Iyad Attia Shahd, in the presence of the administrative assistant ,a number of teachers, and students. The introduction to the Shahnameh as it is a Persian poetic epic similar to international epics and its literal translation (Book of Kings). It was written at the end of the fourth century AH by the Persian poet Ferdowsi, and it conveyed the history of Persia, their news, their wars, their stories, and their legends. The Shahnameh was influenced by Arabic literature and the Arabic language, a sublime raqia, as the language of faith, religion, and the language of Arab identity. The need to study the Persian Shahnameh from specialists in an objective manner far from fanaticism towards it or against it, and other recommendations.
