A Panel Discussion on the Appeal in the English Language

Under the supervision of the Dean of the Faculty of Languages, the Department of English Language held a panel discussion entitled “The Call in the English Language” on Thursday, 3/30/2023. He talked about Linguistics in general and in the English language in particular, highlighting the characteristics of the call, including its different locations in the sentence, its semantic categories, and its functions in communication, as well as, showing the connection of the semantic choice of the type of call with the deliberative function, especially the function that relates to the social relationship between speakers or interlocutors. The episode concluded with the interventions of the audience.
